TIM POMAVILLE
I am a multidisciplinary engineer with a strong foundation in Software and Chemical Engineering, and a diverse background spanning the automotive, chemical, and aerospace industries. Over the past several years, I've transitioned my focus toward modern Software and Platform Engineering, with a deepening specialization in cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and data platforms.
I currently work as a Solutions Architect, where I design and implement scalable, secure, and developer-friendly systems - integrating tools like Kubernetes, AWS, Databricks, and Apache Spark. I'm particularly passionate about creating psychologically safe, high-trust environments where engineering teams can do their best work.
My recent work includes building cloud-native pipelines, automating deployments, and crafting modular software platforms that bridge industrial operations with modern data workflows. With hands-on experience in both infrastructure and application layers, I aim to continue growing as a platform engineer and technical leader - helping teams ship faster, smarter, and with confidence.

Data engineering platforms and projects I'm working on
A comprehensive data engineering stack with modern open-source technologies
Live stream processing events through Kafka -> Flink -> PostgreSQL -> dbt -> Metabase
Enterprise platform engineering projects and architectural decisions
Migrated a comprehensive data engineering platform from Docker Compose to a production-grade Kubernetes cluster using ArgoCD App of Apps pattern, implementing enterprise security and monitoring solutions.
This enterprise-grade platform demonstrates advanced platform engineering skills including container orchestration, identity management, monitoring, and large-scale data processing capabilities. The architecture showcases modern DevOps practices and enterprise security implementations.
My reading journey through technical and professional development
This section will showcase the books I've read, organized by year, covering technical topics, leadership, and personal development.
I aim to read at least 4 technical and professional development books per year, focusing on software engineering, data and machine learning engineering, leadership, and personal growth.
